Dubai Landmarks - Amusements. The Walk behind Dubai marina has been developed over the past 2 years and now houses numerous restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. This image shows a very recent addition in the form of an amusement centre, outdoors. It has various stalls where skill games are played for prizes and video machines. Very popular at the weekend with Dubai residents.

Dubai Landmarks. Just above The Walk, behind Dubai Marina is a raised, landscaped area which is a tranquil place to walk or rest away from the bustle of The Walk itself. It houses residential buildings, shops and cafes and is very popular among local Emiratis.

Dubai Landmarks. Sand sculptures are an art form that can be seen on many of Dubai's beaches. They can be very intricate and because there is no tide to speak of, remain for long periods. These works take hours to complete and it is a privilege to watch the artists as they create them. This one depicts a collage of many of the more famous buildings in Dubai.

Dubai Landmarks. Dubai marina is a hive of activity all year round. It houses a thriving yacht club although there aren't that many yachts in Dubai. Many of the boats are privately owned but there are a lot of state owned boats which can be hired by tourists. The boats come in many sizes to cater for groups. Dubai Landmarks. There are many open air restaurants in Dubai which are in desert locations, obviously designed for tourists. This is one such restaurant. These very colourful lanterns were given pride of place in the centre of the restaiurant. A variety of food is served here to suit every taste and several floor shows are enacted during the evening. A pleasant place to spend a few hours.

Dubai Landmarks - Deira Souk. As with any other city in the world, Dubai is divided into different parts. One of these is called Deira, a very busy shopping are which is on either side of Deira creek. The creek is a busy waterway used for business and leisure activities. This image shows an area known as Deira Souk; a market run by indians and pakistanis alongside the creek. Cheap clothing and other goods can be purchased here.

Dubai Landmarks - Deira City Mall. Deira City Mall in the heart of Dubai is a very large complex housing hundreds of retail outlets including designer outlets. It is one of the lesser known Malls in Dubai but rivals many others. There are some very good restaurants in the mall serving food from across the world.

Dubai Landmarks - Atlantis Resort. Atlantis on the Palm, Dubai, UAE is a massive complex housing a very modern hotel and fantastic leisure facilities. It is typical of Dubai architecture, mixing old and modern together, Atlantis sits on the Palm, a man made structure built on land reclaimed from the sea.
