The plants are used for borders in many gardens as they are low maintenance, disease free and draught resistant. The meaning of the word agapanthus comes from the Greek language and it translates as the flower of love.

Most species are native to the temperate northern hemisphere, though their range extends into the northern subtropics. Lilies are tall perennials ranging in height from 2–6 ft (60–180 cm). They form naked or tunicless scaly underground bulbs which are their overwintering organs.

30. Daylily flower. Daylily is the common name for plants of the genus Hemerocallis. This flower is highly diverse in colour and form, as a result of hybridization efforts of gardening enthusiasts and professional horticulturalists. As a photographer I could without a doubt say, that this red daylily is one of the most beautiful to the eye of the macro lens.
