A four wheel drive vehicle is required to traverse Fraser Island. There are a few creek crossings, such as Eli Creek, and sections of beach that are impassable as the tide rises. Many of the inland tracks are quite soft and difficult to pass through so some knowledge of tides and four wheel driving skills are required to tackle the island.
