Built in the late 1600s by slaves when Moulay Ismail ruled northern Morocco, today the walls and arches of the granary are slowly crumbling. the roof is already gone. So vast and well-designed was the granary that it stored enough grain to feed 12000 horse while also having the space to stable them.
