Echuca is a town on the Murray River in northern Victoria and home to the largest operational fleet of restored paddle steamers in the world. The Murray is Australias longest river, 2,508 Kilometres or 1,558 miles in length. It rises in the Australian Alps, meanders across inland plains forming the border between the States of New South Wales and Victoria, before entering South Australia, heading south and eventually reaching the ocean at Lake Alexandrina.
