Mildura, VIC - Lock 11

The Murray River is Australias longest river, 2,508 Kilometres or 1,558 miles in length. It rises in the Australian Alps, meanders across inland plains forming the border between the States of New South Wales and Victoria, before entering South Australia, heading south and eventually reaching the ocean at Lake Alexandrina. There are 26 man-made Locks, weirs and barrages on the Murray River used to manage the rivers flow, compensate for changes in the rive level and facilitate river navigation.
